Portland Maine Self-Inquiry Group
PURPOSE: "What is reality? We can only know the truth by teaching ourselves to face the truth in all things. If we encourage our computer to come up with erroneous answers, because they are more desirable, then we are developing a computer that we may never be able to trust." -Richard Rose
The purpose of the group is to be watchdogs for each other to prevent ourselves from "encouraging the computer to come up with erroneous answers." This structure of brotherhood can save much time in the search for truth.
FUNCTION: Who am I? Why am I here? What am I doing here? Where did I come from? Where am I going when I die? What is life? What is enlightenment?
It is questions like these that we will be discussing in the group. Every member will have an opportunity to answer and then respond to questions/clarifications from the rest of the group. Of course, no one is obligated to speak.
We meet every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 PM at the First Parish UU Church on Congress St. (Monument Square), Portland, ME 04105 [Use side entrance, then go upstairs].
